RIVERLAND PROBUS CLUBS COMBINED EVENTS

There are men's and ladies' Probus clubs in five of the Riverland Towns and they get together for annual and special events as often as they can. There are five main annual events, the church service, the lawn bowls match, the car rally, the fishing match and a friendship day and, in alphabetical rotation, each club hosts these events. Three of these events have trophies made and donated by members.

For 2010/2011 the club events are:
Barmera
hosts the lawn bowls match. In past years teams for this event filled all rinks at each venue, however numbers have been very much reduced by age. Last year won by Berri with Barmera one point behind.
Berri
choose the venue for the coming years New Year Fellowship Day. Last year this event was a very successful lunch held at the Barmera Monash Football club.
Loxton
will hold the car rally which consists of a gentle drive around the local area gaining points looking for things/items/sites listed on a set route. A very popular fun day won last year by Renmark.
Renmark
will be holding the annual church service, the day usually beginning with a 'meet and greet' coffee and ending with lunch at the local hotel.
Waikerie
may not be holding the fishing match in the local river owing to distance of venue, however another club may offer to host this event.
Loxton and Waikerie
should also be mentioned as for many years they have held an annual lawn bowls grudge match the trophy for which seems to end up in Waikerie.
Other events in the past have included shared trips and visits, membership promotions and shows, and anniversary celebrations which for this year are: Barmera Ladies (21), Barmera Men (22), Berri Ladies(22), Berri Combined (27), Loxton Ladies (24), Loxton Men (25), Renmark Ladies (23), Renmark Men (23), Waikerie Ladies (22), and Waikerie Men (26). Congratulations to you all.
We are also united in the monthly exchange of club newsletters.
